Those are the words I began our New Year with so it is only appropriate that as I complete my term as Chairman of Commercial Information Exchange, (CIE) that I reflect on how we have moved forward in accomplishing goals we set forth.

In such a competitive market; it would be unwise for any of us to believe that once goals are met that the job is finished. Technology, the economy, the very means and ways of performing transactions are constantly evolving so our goals are forever expanding into unchartered territories. I am honored to have participated in the sometimes laborious process it took to attain some of those original 2011 goals.

Advisory Boards for Office and Industrial: CIE was fortunate to bring together Leaders of the industry and together we have begun wading through literally thousands of listings locking down pertinent, confirmed data. The information found in the CIE database is reliable and most important, it is accurate. Our researchers are diligent and the result of their hard work is there for you to see.

System Tools: In the past year, CIE has continued to offer additional tools to the membership. Tenant Data, which allows you to prospect and service your existing clients. Demographics and Thematic Mapping overlaying everything from population data to retail sales based upon your selections. And most recently, New Reports, Presentations & Analysis, these new reports offer a wide variety of templates and graph style reports that will enhance any project with presentation style material.

I have worked with an exemplary group of professionals and together we strive to set the bar for providing the most important tool that you need; a fully researched database. To do that we set higher standards for ourselves; working with proven methods and never losing sight of our goals.

In closing, I wish you a Happy Holiday Season and the best in 2012!

CIE - 2011

CIE began in December 1999 as a means to connect the commercial brokerage community and maximize the free exchange of information electronically to better serve our clients.

CIE is a regional, real-time online database of commercial properties. The system is powered by local real estate professionals who are dedicated to bringing the most up-to-date technology to assist professionals engaging in the commercial property transaction process. Our extensive network of members includes over 200 participating firms with more than 500 commercial REALTOR® members.
